Practical use cases

Fix one line without starting over

Revise the wording in an existing scene, then compare the new take with the original before choosing what belongs in your final video.

Test a different opening

Try a dialogue, action, or visual hook to explore a new first impression while keeping the rest of the video’s direction.

Make speech easier to follow

Add readable captions and balance the music so viewers can follow the message without losing the speaker’s face or product demonstration.

Show what the speaker is describing

Place a product image or supporting visual over the relevant moment so the viewer can connect the spoken point with something concrete.

Before you start

Open a completed video in Videos and select Edit. You need access to the Video workspace and permission to edit that video. You can edit your own videos and eligible videos shared with your team. If the editor shows View Only, use a video you own or ask its owner to check team sharing. For an account-access problem, contact support@stefanbrain.com.

Revise the message and choose your takes

1

Find the moment you want to change

Play the video or scrub the timeline. Use the dialogue to locate the spoken line, then listen to the surrounding sentence before editing.
2

Edit the spoken line in Script

Open Script, select the line, and type the replacement words. Review the marked changes. Keep the edit focused on the message you want to improve rather than rewriting unrelated lines.
3

Review the changes before generating

Select Review Changes. With edits waiting, the button includes their count. Check the replacement text and displayed usage cost before selecting Generate. Generating new takes uses video allowance.
4

Compare the result with the original

Wait for the new take to finish. Play both versions and check the wording, delivery, and transition into the next line. Select the take you want included in the video; do not assume the newest take is the best one.

Try another hook

Open Hooks to review opening ideas. The available options can change the dialogue, action, or visual. Use More Ideas for alternatives, or write your own opening under Your Own. Choose the direction you want to test and review its usage cost before generating. Compare the finished opening with the original and check that the next scene still follows naturally. Keep the test specific: a new first sentence answers a different question than changing the opening action and visuals at the same time.

Add captions and balance the audio

In Captions, turn captions on and choose a style. Preview several spoken lines, not just the first frame. Adjust the size and drag the captions to a position that leaves faces, products, and important details visible. In Music, choose a track and adjust its volume. Use Dip under speech to lower the music when someone speaks. Listen to a section with dialogue and a section without it to check the balance. Add sound effects only where they support an action or transition. Preview their timing and volume with the voice and music playing together.

Add a supporting image with B-Roll

Open B-Roll and choose an image from the video, your Library, or an upload. You can also generate a supporting image. Place it where it supports the spoken point, then adjust its position, size, and timeline duration. For example, show a close-up of the product while the speaker describes a particular feature. Play through the beginning and end of the overlay. Make sure it appears at the intended moment and does not cover information the viewer needs.

Fix a specific section

To change a moment without rewriting its dialogue, select the section on the timeline and choose Edit. Describe what should change and what should stay the same, then review the request before generating a take. This request keeps the message intact while changing the visual action:
Compare the generated section with the original, including the moments immediately before and after it.

Review problems highlighted in Flags

Open Flags to review issues the editor has detected. Play the flagged moment before deciding whether it needs a change. For a spoken-line issue, use Fix Line to review the wording in Script. If several lines need correcting, Fix All lets you review the usage cost before generating replacement takes. Listen to the results and select the takes you want to keep. Flags help you find issues; they do not replace watching the finished video.

Check and download the finished video

Play the complete edit before selecting Download:
  • Confirm the intended takes are selected.
  • Listen for clipped words or awkward transitions around edits.
  • Check captions for readability and placement.
  • Keep the voice audible over music and sound effects.
  • Check that each B-roll image matches the moment it illustrates.
Wait for the updated video to finish preparing before downloading. Open the downloaded file and check that it contains the version you selected.
